Light Pole Falls In Parking Lot: Avon Lake Police Blotter

AVON LAKE, OH — A light pole fell on three cars in an apartment complex parking lot, Avon Lake police said. The electric company had to be called to the scene to kill power to the pole, so it could be safely remove.

Traffic complaint, Nov. 5 — Police stopped a car on Moore Road for driving without lighted license plates. The driver ignored police lights and sirens and continued onto Miller Road before stopping.

Traffic complaint, Nov. 11 — A car with a loud muffler was stopped on June Street. The driver had an expired license, police said.
Found property, Nov. 13 — A bicycle was found in the woods behind Rachel Lane. The bicycle has been entered into police evidence for safekeeping.

Traffic complaint, Nov. 13 — A car was stopped because it had an obstructed rear license plate. The driver had a suspended license and no auto insurance.

Theft, Nov. 14 — A juvenile stole beer from a gas station on Lake Road, police said. Police tracked the juvenile now and he was sent to juvenile court.
Property damage, Nov. 15 — A light pole fell in the parking lot of the Avon West Apartment complex. The pole was still charged with electricity and was laid across three cars. Avon Lake firefighters and the electricity company were called to the scene to turn of the pole.
Traffic complaint, Nov. 16 — A car was stopped because its license plates belonged to another vehicle, police said. The driver had a warrant for his arrest and a suspended license. The driver was taken into custody and the car was towed.
Traffic complaint, Nov. 17 — A driver was cited for operating their car with expired license plates.
Theft, Nov. 17 — A resident bought carpet to be installed in his home, but the carpet was never delivered.
