Loose Dog Gets Owner Cited In Avon Lake
Callers told police a pit bull was charging at pedestrians and barking uncontrollably, according to police records.

AVON LAKE, OH - On the morning of June 1, police were called to Redwood Boulevard for reports of a dog running loose on the street. Callers said the dog has been barking and charging at residents that were walking on the sidewalk.
When officers arrived, they were directed to a home on Redwood. They were told to look for a black pit bull that was approaching walkers.
Hours after police investigated the street, the dog's owner came to Avon Lake Police Department to speak with officers, according to police reports. The owner was cited for dog at large, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.

Police records indicate the dog's owner had previously been cited for letting the dog run loose and for dog barking. The dog's owner appeared in court on Wednesday morning.
Days before the owner was cited, police found a dog running along Walker Road. The owner was cited for letting the dog loose.
