Loose Pit Bull Tracked By Avon Lake Police

AVON LAKE, OH — At about 12:30 p.m. on May 4, police were sent to Redwood Boulevard for reports of a loose pit bull. The dog was seen running through the front lawn of a home before curving into the backyard. The pit bull was attacked by a dog in the backyard and then ran away. A resident on Inwood found the dog a short while later.

Here are some other major incidents from recent weeks in Avon Lake.

Warrant Service, May 4 — Officers were called to the Village on the Green Apartment Complex at about 7 p.m. for a reported disturbance. During the investigation, a 36-year-old Lorain man was found hiding in a closet. He had five outstanding warrants for his arrest and was taken into custody.

Criminal Damaging, May 4 — Someone used a BB gun to shoot up the front of a Redwood Boulevard home, causing several punctures in the home's vinyl siding. The damage was caused between May 4 and May 6. There are no suspects at this time.

Theft, May 3 — Someone stole $100 from a room at an Avon Lake care facility. The staff at the complex investigated the theft and told the patient's daughter to file a police report.

Theft, April 25 — A FedEx package was stolen from a resident's front porch.
