Lorain County COVID-19 Spread Among Lowest In Ohio
Lorain County has less COVID-19 spread than many other Ohio counties, according to state health department data.
AVON, OH — Lorain County has one of the lowest COVID-19 transmission rates in Ohio, according to data from the state health department.
Data collected between Sept. 14 and Sept. 27 indicates Lorain County has 26.4 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents. Lorain County ranks 78th, of Ohio's 88 counties, for COVID-19 transmission (meaning Lorain County has the 11th lowest rate of spread locally).
Between Sept. 9 and Sept. 22, there were 78 active cases of COVID-19 in Lorain County.

Currently, Lorain County is classified as "orange" by the Ohio Department of Health for COVID-19 spread. That means there's increased exposure and spread of the virus within the community.
Lorain County could be reclassified in the state's color-coded system as soon as Thursday. The county could be downgraded to yellow or upgraded to red.
