Lorain County Downgraded To Level 2 Threat For COVID-19
Lorain County was classified as "red" for weeks due its COVID-19 spread. The county was downgraded this week.
AVON, OH — Lorain County was downgraded to a Level 2 or "orange" county for its COVID-19 spread.
Gov. Mike DeWine said the county was close to still being classified as Level 3 or "red," so residents should continue to follow social distancing requirements, wear masks and limit outside contact.
"Although Butler, Lorain, Summit, and Wood are seeing a slower increase in spread and are now at Orange Alert Level 2, they remain at the CDC's definition of moderately-high incidence of COVID-19," DeWine said.

While Lorain County is now "orange," that does not lift any health restrictions locally. Masks will still be required, since the mask mandate is now in effect statewide. Residents should continue to wash their hands vigorously and regularly and limit interactions with people outside of your household, DeWine said.
"We are cautious - these are still high levels of spread, and citizens across Ohio, and these counties must continue to be vigilant in following the layers of protection we’ve talked about," DeWine said.
