Lorain County Health Department Offering Drive-Thru Flu Shots

AVON, OHIO — The Lorain County Public Health Department has announced it is providing flu shots at various locations in early November as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that anyone six months or order get a shot to prevent the chance of illness.

Health officials report that a receiving shot is the best way to reduce the chance of catching the flu and possible serious effects of the illness. Beginning Monday, local health officials will be administering flu shots at several locations around Lorain County. Free flu shots will be administered for all ages at the Lorain County Fairgrounds and for adults at the Oberlin Fire Department from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday as well as at the following locations:

Drive-thru clinics are available for residents 16 years and older on:

• Monday, Nov. 2, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Oberlin Fire Department, 430 S Main St., Oberlin
• Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Elyria Fire Department Station No. 2, 330 E. Broad St. , Elyria
• Monday, Nov. 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Lorain Central Service Complex, 2132 West Park Drive, Lorain

Additional flu shot clinics for families with children ages 6 months through 15 years:

• Monday, Nov. 2, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Lorain County Fairgrounds, 23000 Fairgrounds Rd. , Wellington
• Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lorain County Community College in the Ewing Activities Center, 1005 Abbe Rd., Elyria
• Monday, Nov. 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Lorain High School, 2600 Ashland Ave, Lorain
