Low-Cost Senior Education Event Coming To Avon Lake
The first-ever Senior University will be held at Avon Lake High School on November 6.

AVON LAKE, OH β The first-ever Senior University will be held at Avon Lake High School on November 6. The event will offer low-cost classes to senior citizens in Avon Lake and surrounding communities.
"The event is aimed to connect older residents with younger students, as well as provide resources and information for seniors," according to a statement from an Avon Lake Schools official.
Senior University is sponsored by the North Coast Rotary. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the high school. Students can take two of 14 "classes."

Class topics include: "Avon Lake - Then and Now," "Avoiding Scams This Holiday Season," "Fit & Fabulous Chair Exercises," "New Technology for Your Old Photographs," and more. There will also be a keynote address from Bob DiBiasio, senior vice president of public affairs for the Cleveland Indians.
Tickets for the event are $15 and include lunch and a performance from the Avon Lake High School Jazz Band. Registration is available online.
