Mailboxes Destroyed By Allegedly Impaired Avon Woman
Police said the woman's car was severely damaged and her airbags had been deployed. She reportedly said she didn't know what happened.
WESTLAKE, OH — Two residents on Forest Lake Drive reported that their brick mailboxes had been hit by an SUV on May 24. The residents said they thought the driver, a 41-year-old woman from Avon, was intoxicated. It was 9:24 p.m.
Police arrived and found the two destroyed mailboxes and the SUV. The vehicle had been damaged to the point of being disabled, according to Westlake Police. Photos show significant damage to one of the vehicle's tire wells and fender.
The airbags had also been deployed inside the SUV. Still, the driver said she did not know what had happened.

Police thought the driver showed signs of impairment, so she was field tested. The field tests confirmed the impairment.
The woman was arrested by police and charged with operating a vehicle while impaired. The 41-year-old refused to take a breath test.
