Man Arrested For Cocaine, Weed Possession in Avon Lake

The man was stopped by police because he was driving with two broken rear taillights.

AVON LAKE, OH - If you're moving narcotics from one place to another, it's best not to do so in a broken down car. One man found that out the hard way this past week when he was arrested by Avon Lake Police. Read more on that incident and others below.

OVI, April 20 - Police stopped a 2000 gold Ford Ranger on South Point Drive for multiple traffic violations. The driver was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence, excessive BAC, driving under suspension, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and open container.

Possession of a Controlled Substance, April 20 - An officer spotted a car with no working rear taillights near Walker and Avon Belden roads. The officer had the driver pull into a nearby gas station. During the stop, the officer found cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in the driver's possession. The driver was arrested.

Personal Injury, April 21 - A father came to Avon Lake Police Station to report that his son had been burned while playing with a campfire at the man's ex-wife's house. The man said there had been no adult supervision at the fire. Police are investigating the matter.

Animal Complaint, April 22 - While walking on Parkwood Avenue, a man was bitten by a dog. The dog was being walked by a juvenile and the animal lunged at the man as he tried to walk by it. The owner of the dog was contacted and records of its shots will be obtained.

Liquor Offense, April 23 - An Avon Lake man called police and said that he and his wife were being followed by a vehicle. He said the vehicle had been trailing them for approximately 10 miles and had followed them close to their house. Police told the man to keep driving and to come to the Avon Lake Police Department. The shadowing vehicle followed the man and his wife to the police station. Officers spoke to the occupants of both vehicles and as a result a Cleveland woman was cited for open container.

Suspicion, April 24 - Two men in black hoodies chased a man and his dog while they were walking on Somerset Lane. The man called Avon Lake Police and said he thought the chase may have been related to a previous incident with his neighbor.
