Man Assaulted In Avon Lake

A group of men jumped out of two cars and attacked a Sheffield Lake man while he was in Avon Lake.

AVON LAKE, OH — Police are investigating a reported assault that occurred on Miller Road. You can read more about that incident and others from the past week.

Disturbance, April 24 - A group of men reportedly jumped out of a black Suburban and green Eclipse and assaulted a Sheffield Lake man. The man was walking in the area of 123 Miller Road. The man was injured in the assault. The suspects were located by police and statements were taken. Charges are pending.

Drug Investigation, April 25 - Police ran a check on a car driving near Avon Belden and Walker roads. The driver had an expired license and police stopped the car. Officers investigated and cited the driver for possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia.

Theft, April 25 - A local woman reported that her television was stolen from the common basement of an apartment complex.

Fraud, April 25 - An Englewood Drive woman reported that she had a suspicious transaction with a credit card servicing company. Thte woman signed up for the program to enjoy a lower interest rate, but after paying a fee her rate was not lowered. The woman has requested a refund and the company refused. The investigating officer was unable to find information about the credit card company online. The resident provided the company's phone number and the company was supposedly based in New York State. The resident was told to follow up with the Ohio Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau.

Theft, April 25 - Prescription sleeping pills were stolen from a home on Rockwood Court.

Theft, April 25 - An apartment manager reportedly took more rent money than she was supposed to. A report has been taken.

Ordinance Violation, April 25 - The property owner of 115 Avon Pointe Avenue was served a summons for a building code violation.
