Man Robbed in Avon Lake's Walker Road Park

The man allegedly knew the robbers and drove to the park with them. They forcefully stole the money and then drove off without him.

AVON LAKE, OH - Police dealt with a robbery this past week in Avon Lake. A man was driven to Walker Road Park and then robbed. That incident is at the bottom of this report. Take a look at the incident for more details.

Burglary, Jan. 13 - Cash was stolen from a North Point Drive home.

Traffic Complaint, Jan. 26 - Police stopped a car on Electric Boulevard, near Avon Point Avenue, after the car failed to use a turn signal while turning off of Fay Avenue onto Electric. The driver had a suspended license and the car was released to a family member with a valid driver's license.

Theft, Jan. 26 - A family on Vanda Avenue reported that a laptop, two checks, and a tablet were all taken from their home. The family believes a relative that's staying with them may be responsible.

Liquor Offense, Jan. 27 - Officers stopped a 2006 Chevy Impala on Country Club Drive at 12:22 a.m. The car was speeding. Th driver was a 20-year-old and police saw a partially full bottle of liquor on the rear floorboard of the car. The driver was cited for underage possession of alcohol and doing 54 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Disturbance, Jan. 27 - A Fairport Drive woman reported that her ex-husband and her got into an argument over $30. The ex grabbed their son's boots and threw them at a glass door.

Possession of a Controlled Substance, Jan. 27 - The boyfriend of an Acacia Court resident called police and reported that his girlfriend's son and his friends were smoking weed inside the home. Police arrived on scene and cited three juveniles for possession of marijuana. All parties involved were notified that the Lorain County Juvenile Court would be in contact with them at a later date via mail. All of the juveniles were then released to their parents.

Fraud, Jan. 28 - Facebook played host to an attempted fraud scheme. A resident reported that an unidentified person posed as the father of the residen'ts childhood friend. The imposter sent a friend request and once the resident accepted, the imposter began chatting with the resident. The imposter then tried to convince the resident to send money for a non-profit. The resident didn't pass along any sensitive information and suspected they were being scammed, so they reported the incident to police.

Robbery, Jan. 30 - Police were sent to Walker Road Park for reports of a man that was robbed. The victim and the three suspects allegedly arrived in the same car together. Three of the suspects then forcefully stole money from the victim, left him in the park, and fled in a car. Westlake Police stopped the car and arrested the three men.
