The Mets battled the Cardinals Saturday and despite a great effort, the Mets came up short in their Rookie League matchup in Avon Little League.
While both teams dealt with the warm temperatures, in the end, the Cardinals hot bats were too much for the Mets. On a positive note, Coach Furiga was happy with his team's play, praising them for staying competitve during the entire game.
The Mets are back in action at 6:30 p.m. Thursday versus the Red Sox.
