More Details Emerge On Avon Lake Burglary Incident
After kicking in the door of a house and brawling with the homeowner, the burglar was able to escape the residence and flee from police.

AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake Police have released more information on the burglary incident from May 8. The department confirmed that an unidentified suspect kicked in a door at a house on Hermann Drive to gain entry to the residence and a struggle between the homeowner and the suspect ensued.
The suspect was able to wriggle free and flee the residence before police arrived. A search of the area was conducted by officers and a K9 unit, but the suspect could not be located. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Burglary, May 2 - A resident reported that someone stole change from his apartment while he was out of town.
Animal Complainant, May 2 - Two dogs were embroiled in a scuffle in Walker Road Park. Officers spoke to both animal owners and advised them of the dog at large ordinance.

Property Damage, May 2 - A falling tree hit a car parked at the Close Quarters Pub. The power company had to be called to the scene to remove downed power lines and the car owner was made aware of the incident and told to contact her insurance company.
Theft, May 4 - An Avon Lake resident reported that he purchased an item online but never received the item.
Fraud, May 5 - Someone took out an auto loan in an Avon Lake resident's name. Problem is the loan was taken out in Texas and is worth about $78,000. The same Avon Lake resident has also received toll fines for a vehicle registered in his name.
