Mother Calls Police, Says Son May Be On Drugs: Avon Lake

Officers found a syringe and a spoon in the son's bedroom, both containing possible drug residue, according to police.

AVON LAKE, OH — Police arrested a 24-year-old for possession of drug paraphernalia and drug instruments after his mother called and said she thought her son was under the influence of drugs last week. The son has a history of drug paraphernalia arrests, according to court records obtained by Patch.

On May 17, at about 4:45 a.m., police were called to a home on Brookcrest Place. After they arrived, and spoke with the mother, they investigated and found a syringe and a spoon, both containing suspected drug residue, according to a police report obtained by Patch.

Both items were found in the son's bedroom, police said.

Police arrested the man for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug instruments. He was taken to Avon Lake City jail without incident.

An arraignment hearing on both charges was held May 17 in Avon Lake Municipal Court. Pre-trial hearings are scheduled for Thursday.
