Moving Truck Wiped Out Avon Lake Power Lines Despite Warnings
Residents called Avon Lake Police to warn officers about the truck. It wasn't enough to protect the power lines.

AVON LAKE, OH — Power lines got taken down in Avon Lake after a large tree branch landed atop a moving truck on Nov. 26. Callers had called police to complain about the dangerous tree atop the truck prior to power lines being knocked out.
Police got a call around 2 p.m. Nov. 26 saying there was a Penske moving truck going north on Moore Road with a large tree branch hanging from the top of the bed of the truck. Officers caught up to the vehicle on Electric Boulevard.
The truck was parked on the road. The driver, a 35-year-old California man, said the branch had landed on the truck on Moore Road in Avon.

When the man attempted to move the truck off Electric Boulevard, the truck got ensnared in the overhead power lines.
The Illuminating Company and the Avon Lake Service Department were then called to the scene. Crews managed to take apart the tree branch and remove it from the truck. Then the power lines were re-secured.

Police said the truck was then able to scooter off Electric Boulevard without further incident.
