New Member Needed For Avon Lake City Council

Ward 3 will be without a representative because of the resignation of Larry Meiners.

AVON LAKE, OH — Ward 3 will soon be without a city council representative in Avon Lake. Current councilman Larry Meiners is resigning, leaving the seat vacant. People interested in joining the council will need to fill out an application.

A letter of interest and an application will be needed for consideration. Whoever is appointed to the position will will have a term that will end Dec. 31, 2019.

To qualify for the position, the applicant must be a resident in Ward 3, a qualified elector and plans to remain in Ward 3 during their term in office. Applicants cannot hold any other public office or have a job with another city. The applicant also cannot have a financial interest in how the city's money is spent.

Letters of interest and applications should be sent to Valerie Rosmarin, Clerk of Council, 150 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, OH. Alternatively, the documents can emailed to vrosmarin@avonlake.org. All submissions are due by March 21 at 4:30 p.m.
