1. The Community Foundation of Lorain County has announced its second annual 'Connect to a Cause' results. The community raised $277,000 for 65 local nonprofits through the coordinated, 12-hour crowdfunding campaign. (Avon-Avon Lake Patch)

2. Avon Lake High School will host a public candidates forum Oct. 27 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the ALHS Performing Arts Center, located at 175 Avon Belden Rd. The forum will include the candidates running for the Avon Lake School Board and Council Ward Three. (Avon-Avon Lake Patch)
