"Old Fashioned" Christmas at Veterans Memorial Park

Looking for that "hometown Christmas feel"? Mayberry will be jealous. The City of Avon Lake is going to light the park and the Community Christmas Tree on Friday, Nov. 30. at approximately 5:30pm. Working in concert with Heritage Avon Lake, Veterans Memorial Park will be the epicenter for holiday spirit. Santa will arrive via the Avon Lake Fire Department at The Folger Home where he will be greeted by Mayor Greg Zilka and other city employees that helped to make this event possible. There will be cookies and hot chocolate for the all attending. The city Service Department worked hard to get preparations finished in time for Santa's arrival. A Spruce tree has been planted at Veterans Park that will be used every year here after. This is hoped to be an annual city tree lighting.
