Overdosing Man Calls Avon Lake Police For Help

The man told officers he was having trouble breathing and thought he was overdosing on heroin.

AVON LAKE, OH - Officers got a strange call last week when a man called to report his own overdose. Find out what happened in that incident and other below.

Traffic Complaint, April 3 - Police stopped a vehicle on Walker Road for failing to obey a traffic light. The driver had a suspended license and was cited for Driving Under Suspension and Traffic Control Devices.

Lost Property, April 3 - Officers were sent to Community Drive where a man believed his wallet and walker may have been stolen.

Drug Investigation, April 4 - A man overdosing on heroin called police to get help. The man said he was at his home on Forest Boulevard and was having trouble breathing and believed he was overdosing. Police arrived and found the man crouched in front of his house, on the street. The man was still conscious and breathing. Paramedics gave the man Narcan and took him to a local hospital for treatment.

OVI, April 4 - Callers reported a car driving recklessly on Avon Belden Road. When police caught up to the vehicle, they determined the driver was intoxicated and arrested him for OVI.

Fraud, April 5 - A Crestwood Drive woman came to Avon Lake Police Station to report that someone had stolen money from her checking account. An online purchase in Oregon, made in the woman's name, drained $656.49 from her account.

Possession of a Controlled Substance, April 6 - Police stopped a car on Forest Boulevard. During a search of the car, officers found 158 grams of marijuana in the driver's possession. The driver was arrested for drug possession.

Fraud, April 7 - Someone used a Lake Road man's identity to buy a cell phone.
