Pair of Burglaries Hit Avon Lake Homes: Police Blotter
Two residents reported a thief breaking into their home and stealing several items on Oct. 7.

AVON LAKE, OH - Police assisted paramedics in preventing an drug overdoes death on Sept. 30 and residents reported a pair of burglaries on Oct. 7. Those incidents and others in this week's police blotter.
Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments, Sept. 30 - A construction worker OD'd in the driveway of a house under construction on Lake Road. Officers were called to the scene to assist the Avon Lake Fire Department. When they arrived, paramedics were administering NARCAN, the opiate antidote, to the man. The man regained consciousness and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Theft by Deception, Oct. 2 - Someone tried to acquire $8,000 worth of Amazon Gift Cards using an Avon Lake man's identity.

Theft, Oct. 2 - Four loading ramps were stolen from a tractor trailer parked behind the Avon Lake Post Office. The ramps had been locked up and are valued at $2,200.
Disturbance, Oct. 4 - An intoxicated woman was arrested and taken to the hospital after she refused to leave Johnny Malloys Bar. The woman was allegedly screaming at employees prior to police arrival.

Fraud, Oct. 5 - A resident reported that unauthorized charges had been made using her debit card. The charges were made at multiple locations.
Burglary, Oct. 7 - Thousands of dollars worth of jewelry were stolen from a Crossings Way home. The thief gained access to the house by breaking a front window and unlocking the front door.
Burglary, Oct. 7 - A Parkside Drive home had jewelry, a video game console, and other items were stolen. The thief broke a side window next to the front door to gain access to the house.
Theft, Oct. 9 - A resident reported that their credit card was stolen and used in unauthorized charges. Someone also used their vehicle without authorization.
