Parents Get Son Charged For Weed In Avon Lake

The parents asked police to charge their son for unruly behavior. That and other incidents in the Avon Lake police blotter.

AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake Police were asked to charge a juvenile for unruly behavior this month. The request came from an odd person: the boy's parents. Read more about that incident and others from this month below.

Juvenile Complaint, March 11 — Police were called to a Lake Road home after the residents discovered marijuana in their son's home. The parents asked police to charge their son because of his ongoing behavior problems.

Disturbance, March 11 — A solicitor got bit by an Avon Lake resident's dog, bringing police to the home of the resident. The resident's dog was chained up in the front of the house, near the porch. When the solicitor approached, the resident warned him not to approach, but the solicitor ignored him. Eventually, as the solicitor approached, the dog nipped him in the leg. The resident and the solicitor then yelled at each other.

Traffic Complaint, March 14 — While on patrol, an Avon Lake officer ran a random registration check on a vehicle at the intersection of Walker Road and Avon Belden Road. The car's plates had been expired for more than a year. The driver was issued a citation for the expired plates.

Juvenile Complaint, March 13 — A Woodfield Drive man found that his juvenile son's email address was used to send vulgar emails to several teachers at Brunswick High School. The person believed to have used the email address accessed it through a computer at Avon Lake Public Library.

Theft, March 17 — A Somerset resident reported that someone stole his mountain bike out of his garage. Police said there were no signs of forced entry on the garage.
