Parents, Police Get Vandals To Clean Avon Lake Park
The playground at Eastview Elementary was defaced. When a local mother found out her son was involved, she contacted police.

AVON LAKE, OH — A group of juvenile boys were forced to clean up their own vandalism earlier this month, police reports revealed. The group used colored hairspray to deface playground equipment at Eastview Elementary School. When one of the boys' mothers found out, she blew a gasket and turned them into police.
The juveniles were turned into police on June 5, police records indicate. After the mother came forward, and the boys were confronted by police, the juveniles admitted to defacing the playground equipment.
An officer arranged worked with the parents of all of the boys to arrange for the juveniles to back to the playground and scrub off the colored hairspray. The equipment is again clean.

An officer then spoke with the principal of Eastview Elementary, police said. Instead of pursuing criminal charges against the juveniles, the principal accepted an apology and his newly cleaned equipment.
Eastview Elementary got new playground equipment in September 2017. Called the "Play for All" playground, the park was renovated by volunteers and includes additional space for children with special needs, cleveland.com said last year.
