Parole Violator From Arizona Taken Into Custody In Avon Lake

AVON LAKE, OH — Police arrested an Avon man on July 1, after they discovered he was wanted for violating his parole in Arizona. That was one incident in a busy end of June that saw officers cite a 16-year-old girl for speeding, a nearly 80-year-old man for driving with a suspended license, and a resident report their credit card information had been stolen.

Traffic Complaint, June 25 — A car was seen driving 43 mph in a 25 mph zone down Lake Road at about 12:40 a.m. Police pulled the car over near Avondale Avenue. There were four teenage girls inside the car, they were all released to their parents that morning. The driver was cited for speeding.

Fraud, June 25 — A 45-year-old resident told police that their credit card had been compromised. Someone got access to the card and made bought a king-sized mattress and cover online, according to the police report.

Traffic Complaint, June 27 — Police stopped a car on Moore Road, near Pin Oak Parkway. The driver, a 79-year-old Bay Village man, was cited driving with a suspended license, having fake license plates, and having expired license plates. The man's car was towed from the scene.

Warrant, July 1 — Reports of a possible domestic dispute came in from the Coachman Apartments at about 2 a.m. Police arrived and investigated before taking 30-year-old resident into custody. The man had a warrant for his arrest out of Arizona for a parole violation, police said.
