Patch Picks: 5 Places to Spend St. Patrick's Day
Bars Offer Top O' the Mornin' Specials

Sure, you know all about the downtown parade and other Cleveland St. Patrick’s Day traditions. But if you’re looking for a way to celebrate in or around Avon, here are five possibilities:
: This celebration geared for just about all ages starts at 1 p.m. with Irish dancers, live entertainment and a DJ. Food will be available from 5 to 8 p.m. There is still time to buy advance tickets for $10 each; call 440-933-3413. Tickets at the door of the Avon Lake center are $12, and children ages 4-12 will be admitted for $2 each.
: The party begins with kegs and eggs at 8 a.m. and goes until midnight. The patio is scheduled to open at 11 a.m., and with high temperatures predicted to be around 60, it seems our unpredictable weather is going to cooperate. There will be lots of drink and corned beef specials, along with live music and a performance from the Burke School of Irish Dance.

: The early bird catches the … beer, with $1 Guinness from 8 to 10 a.m. There also will be $2 Jameson specials and $5 Car Bombs.
: If you don't have the luck of the Irish, you'll probably have to spend the day working or going to school while others are partying. But you can still celebrate here in the evening. The Lizard’s St. Patrick’s Day menu features a corned beef dinner, corned beef sandwich and even an Irish pizza.
