[Photos] Avon Schools Celebrate Dr. Seuss

Avon East Elementary and the Avon Early Learning Center celebrated with a week of themed costume days and readings.

AVON, OH - Theodore Seuss Geisel was born March 2. At that point in his life, he was not yet known by his iconic nom de plume, Dr. Seuss. However, in schools across the country, Geisel's birth was a cause for celebration and the Avon Early Learning Center and Avon East Elementary happily partied it up in honor of Dr. Seuss' greatest works.

If you're new to Earth or were miraculously born at age 45 and have never heard of Dr. Seuss, he's the author of incredibly famous books for children including The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who!, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, and Green Eggs and Ham.

Here was the two school's schedule for their Dr. Seuss celebration this past week:

  • Monday: Crazy Hat Day
  • Tuesday: Silly Socks Day
  • Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday (dress as wacky as you can)
  • Thursday: Thing Thursday (wear a shirt with a number on it)
  • Friday: Lorax Day (wear orange)
