Police Investigating Possible Fight At Avon Lake Bar

AVON LAKE, OH — Police are investigating a possible assault that happened at an Avon Lake bar and restaurant, according to police reports.

At about 9:40 p.m. on July 3, police were sent to 3rd Base Bar and Grill on Moore Road. Callers had reported a possible fight in the parking lot of the restaurant.

When officers arrived, there was no one in the parking lot. Witnesses said the fight had actually happened on the back patio of the bar.

Police then met with a man who said he was attacked at the bar, records say. The man, a 48-year-old from Avon Lake, told officers he sat at a table next to another man and was told to leave. Before the 48-year-old could get up, the other man began to punch him and choke him.

The 48-year-old was taken to the Cleveland Clinic for an evaluation, police said.

The suspect in the assault was gone before police arrived on the scene. However, police records indicate officers have identified a suspect in the case.
