Police Rouse Passed Out Man In Avon Lake

Callers said the man was lying next to a sidewalk, apparently asleep, police said.

AVON LAKE, OH — An allegedly intoxicated 24-year-old was cited by police after he passed out next to a city sidewalk. Callers reported seeing the man lying next to the pavement.

OVI, June 13 — Police stopped a car near Avon Belden Road and Carriage Lane at about 2 a.m. on June 13. The driver of the car, a 37-year-old Avon Lake woman, was found to be impaired, police said. She was taken into custody.

Menacing, June 11 — An Avon Lake man said his friend threatened him over the phone due to a conflict over money. Police contacted the friend and told him to have no further contact with the resident. The friend did not return the officer's call.

Theft, June 11 — Someone used a resident's prepaid Visa card to make three unauthorized purchases, totaling $315.90.

Disorderly Conduct, June 10 — Callers said there was a man passed near the sidewalk on Electric Boulevard, near Avon Pointe Avenue. Officers found a 24-year-old man in that area. He was checked and cleared by Avon Lake Firefighters before being cited for disorderly conduct by intoxication.

Traffic Complaint, June 9 — A car was stopped on Lake Road for driving with fictitious plates. The driver was cited for not installing genuine license plates and the car was towed from the scene.

Fraud, June 8 — Fake tickets to the Cavaliers versus Warriors NBA Finals, Game 3, were sold to an Avon Lake man. The resident paid via Craigslist but never received his tickets.

Theft, June 6 — A minibike was stolen out of a garage on Rice Park Drive. The bicycle was last seen two weeks before June 6, police said. The bicycle is valued at $450.
