Possible Burglaries Under Investigation In Avon Lake

AVON LAKE, OH — Money was stolen from a teenage girl's bedroom in an apparent burglary in Avon Lake, police records said. A few days later someone got into a garage on Aqua Marine Boulevard and stole a man's wallet and other items from a car.

Both incidents are currently under investigation by Avon Lake police and both are being considered burglaries, according to Avon Lake police records.

The first incident happened between July 16 and July 19. A 15-year-old girl was dropped off at her mother's house by her father, went to her room, and discovered money was missing. No other items were taken from her bedroom.

The teenager believes someone may have gotten the garage door codes for her mother's house on Fairfield Road. The homeowner told police they would change the code. There were no signs of a break-in at the house.

The case has been forwarded to the Avon Lake Detective Bureau, reports said.

Then, sometime between July 22 and July 23, someone sneaked into the garage of an Aqua Marine Boulevard home. The thief, or thieves, stole two bicycles from the garage and got into a car and stole a wallet, sunglasses, credit cards and cash.

Police records said there were no signs that someone broke into the garage.
