didn't let a little—well a lot—of mud slow down its boys cross country team at the Sept. 30 Gilmour Academy Paul Primeau Invitational. The team took first place with a scant 23 points and an average runners time of 18:44.2.  The forecast for the Friday race was 50 degrees, cold and rainy but for the Shoremen, running through muddy trails and rainy conditions didn't prevent them from taking the number 1, 2 and 3 spots to beat <a href="http://SEHS.edu" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">St. Edward High Schoo</a>l. Senior Trevor Norris placed first with a time of 18:13.4 followed by senior Francesco Maiorca, (18:24.1) and junior Tommy Parsons (18:41.4). Senior  Connor Musial took fifth with 18:51.3, junior Michael Callesen took 12th place. 19:30.6, senior Leon Kinsley, placed 34th  (20:18.7) and freshman  Trent Glasser, placed 38th with a time of  20:22.9 in the Division I varsity race. Following the Shoremen and St. Edward were Aurora, Shaker Heights and St. Ignatius. Avon Lake Girls took third place at the event with 125 points.  The team's top runners were junior Annie Wennerberg (13th,24:33.0) Sophomore Marisa Gerrone, (16th, 24:35.6) sophomore Jessica Lambert (24th, 24:59.5) freshman Katey Faber, 26th, 25:02.7,) senior and freshman Charlotte Ward, 76th, Jane Duskey, (46th, 25:30.1), senior Maddie Furrer, (71st, 26:48.7) and freshman Charlotte Ward (76th, 27:02.4).  Ron Jantz submitted the photos for this story, including the mail one, which perfectly tells the story of the conditions runners faced.
