Robert "Bob" Reich, 72, Services Saturday

Devoted and active member of Avon Lake United Church of Christ

Robert "Bob" Reich, age 72, a resident of Avon Lake died suddenly Jan. 3, 2012 at St. John West Shore Medical Center.

Raised in Salem, OH, Mr. Reich was a graduate of Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia, where he met his wife, Judy.

As a devoted and active member of Avon Lake UCC, he served as youth minister in the 1980s. He sang in the choir and providing Christian education and spiritual leadership and guidance.

He most recently served as senior pastor at Sheffield Lake UCC after 25 years of working for the YMCA in McKeesport PA, Marion OH, Westchester PA, White Plains NY, Fulton NY, Bradford PA and Elyria.Β 

Mr. Reich is survived by his wife Judy, daughters Karen Reich of Bedford, Kathy Nicol (David) of Lorain, son Scott Reich (LeeAnn) of Canton, mother Rena Reich and brother Bill Reich (Judy) both of Salem; nephew Mike Reich of Mentor and niece Jennifer Reich of Madison; as well as nine grandchildren.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Reich's physical remains were donated to the Cleveland Clinic following a donation of his corneas to Cleveland Sight Center through LifeBanc.Β 

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at , 32801 Electric Blvd, Avon Lake.
