57-year resident of Avon Lake passed away on Jan. 9.
Sam "Sonny" Guercio, 84, of Avon Lake, passed away on Jan. 9 at Mercy Medical Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.
Guercio was born June 8, 1927 in Rocky River and has lived in Avon Lake for the past 57 years.
Guercio began his working career as a greenhouse glazier. For a time he worked for the and then worked for BFGoodrich as a lab technician, retiring in 1986.
