Scammer Tries To Rip Off Avon Lake Burger King
Someone claiming to be a "US Marshal" called the fast food restaurant and said officers needed to replace phony currency with real money.

AVON LAKE, OH - Don't trust everyone who calls you. The manager of a local fast food chain was skeptical of a man claiming to be law enforcement last week and contacted police. Read on for more information on that incident and others.
Suspicious Activity, April 17 - The manager of the Burger King, 519 Avon Belden Road, received a call from a man claiming to be with the US Marshals. The man said that he was investigating false currency and needed to replace all of the fake money at Burger King with real money. He said he would come to the restaurant and switch out the currency. The manager called Avon Lake Police and the "Marshal" never showed.
Traffic Complaint, April 17 - Police stopped a car on Redwood Boulevard and Parkview Drive for an equipment violation. Officers cited the man for emitting a white light from the back of his car. The man was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

Traffic Complaint, April 18 - A car was stopped on Lake Road by police. The driver had a suspended license for OVI and was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Drug Overdose, April 18 - Police were called to a home on Norman Avenue for reports of a man having trouble breathing. When they arrived they found the man overdosing on drugs. Narcan was administered to the man and he was taken to a local hospital.

Menacing, April 19 - An angry customer threatened an employee of Walgreens, 32798 Walker Rd, over the phone. The customer accused the employee of losing prescriptions before going on a tirade and threatening the employee.
Suspicious Person, April 20 - A resident of Horseshoe Way reported that a home surveillance camera captured a apparently trying to enter his home on April 20. The suspect was seen pulling on the rear sliding door of the house. Police searched the area but could not locate the suspect.
