Scraps Of Car Found After Hit-Skip Accident In Avon Lake
Police said a vehicle fled the scene of an accident but was found parked in a residential driveway shortly after.

AVON LAKE, OH — Police picked up scraps of car at the intersection of Tradewinds Drive and Windward Way after someone hit a car and then drove off. The damaged, fleeing vehicle was found a short while later in the driveway of a nearby home.
The accident came to police attention at about 12:45 a.m. on September 21. When officers got to the intersection and saw the wreckage, they were able to get a description of the vehicle that had fled — it was a gray Chevrolet Tahoe.
Officers went looking for the SUV and found it in the driveway of a home on Maritime Court. The owner was cited for reckless operation, failure to control, leaving the scene of an accident, and expired registration. The case will go to pre-trial on October 18 in the Avon Lake Municipal Court.
