Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Lorain County
The thunderstorm watch will be in place until 8 p.m. on April 20, though storms may continue until 2 a.m. on April 21.

AVON, OH - The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Lorain County. The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday.
Lorain County issued an alert to residents at 2:10 p.m. warning that a severe thunderstorm could produce hail, high winds, and cause significant damage in the area. The National Weather Service expects the storm to begin dying off by 2 a.m. April 21.
Temperatures are currently in the low 80s around Lorain County. Expect steep temperature plunges during the possible thunderstorms, with things setting around 50 degrees. The NWS says rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch are possible.

FirstEnergy says there are currently between 2 and 40 outages for customers in the Avon area. Power should be restored between 4 and 8 p.m. on Thursday, the company says.
Ready.gov recommends residents unplug unnecessary electronic equipment that isn't plugged into a surge protector. The government also recommends you find shelter inside a home or car and seal up doors and shutter windows at your residence.
