'Severe' Thunderstorms Possible In Avon, Avon Lake
A few pockets of Lorain County are already reporting power outages, including some homes in Avon Lake.

AVON LAKE, OH — Light rain could turn to severe thunderstorms in Lorain County on Tuesday afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service warns. Pockets of the county are already experiencing power outages.
"Thunderstorms are expected in the area today. There is a chance that some storms may approach severe limits with strong winds possible, especially during the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms may also produce locally heavy rainfall," the National Weather Service said.
The combination of rain and strong winds will also make local beaches hazardous for swimmers on Tuesday. Best to avoid Lake Erie for a bit.
