Sheffield Lake Hit-And-Run: SUV Involved In Crash Found

The owner of the vehicle reported it stolen after Roslyn Arroyo was killed while crossing SR 57, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

LORAIN, OH β€” The SUV that allegedly hit and killed Roslyn Arroyo on Sunday night has been located, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. Arroyo was struck while walking across a street in Sheffield Lake.

The SUV was found in Lorain, the Patrol told The Chronicle. The vehicle's owner had reported the SUV stolen after the hit-and-run. No charges have yet been filed.

Arroyo, 49, of Lorain, was trying to cross SR 57 when she was hit by a car. Despite being rushed to University Hospitals, Arroyo passed away from her injuries, Fox 8 reported.

When police struggled to find the driver that hit Arroyo, her family made an impassioned plea for justice. β€œDo the right thing. It’s only going to get worse from here. They might not catch you but the guilt will weigh on you more than anything else in the world,” Angel Rivas, Arroyo's sister, said on Fox 8.

The family has set up a GoFundMe to help pay for funeral expenses.
