Sketch Of Avon Lake Burglary Suspect Released

The pictured suspect broke into a resident's home and fought the resident before fleeing the premises empty-handed.

AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake Police are releasing a sketch of a man suspected of breaking into a resident's house in an attempted burglary. The suspect kicked a door in to gain entry to the residence, and the resident and the suspect scuffled before the suspect fled the premises.

Police say the incident occurred in the early morning hours of May 8, with the resident reporting the burglary at 2:40 a.m. The suspect kicked in the garage door and then walked into the home's foyer. The resident and suspect spotted each other in the foyer and had a brief fight. The resident got a cut above his right eye during the brawl.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his 30s, with a stocky build. The suspect is approximately 6' tall, 200 pounds, with dark hair and dark eyes. He was wearing a black watch cap and dark hooded sweatshirt during the attempted burglary.

Avon Lake Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are following up on all leads. If anyone has information on the incident, call the Avon Lake Detective Bureau at 440-933-2211.
