Snapshot Avon Lake: Getting Ready for the Season
High School athletes are beginning training this week for the 2011-12 sports year.
A lone member of the Avon Lake girls cross-country team gets an extra workout in at the stadium on the afternoon of Aug. 10.
Last season the Shoregals, under the guidance of coach Becky Uszak, finished second in the SWC to Brecksville, but return Katie Link, an All-state performer who placed second last year after winning the individual title her frehsman and sophomore season.
The 2011 cross country season kicks off with the SWC preview on Aug. 26 and is followed by the annual Avon Lake Early Bird Invitational on Sept 3.
