Stolen Vehicle Found In Avon Lake

A vehicle stolen in Bedford Heights was found in the city. Three of the five people in the car were wanted in other cities.

AVON LAKE, OH — A stolen vehicle rolled through Avon Lake at the end of May. Police spotted the car and pulled it over. Read on for more information on what happened in that incident and others from the last week of May.

Theft, May 26 - Someone entered a Parkside Lane resident's car and stole their debit card. The card was later used in Cleveland.

Theft, May 26 - A prowler also hit a car parked on Harbor Court, getting away with several items that were left in the vehicle.

Theft, May 26 - A vehicle on Treeside Lane became the third vehicle to be hit by prowlers overnight on May 26. Sunglasses, clothes, a purse and wallet, checkbook and other items were snatched from the vehicle.

Fraud, May 26 - Unauthorized transactions were made from a Marbook Lane woman's bank accounts. The woman's bank reimbursed her.

Identity Theft, May 26 - A Belle Road woman told police her checking account was hacked, including her phone number and email.

Drug Investigation, May 27 - An officer on patrol saw a car roll through a stop sign at Brookfield and Electric Boulevard. He followed the vehicle as it turned on Redwood Boulevard before initiating a traffic stop. There was an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Two men were cited for possession of marijuana.

Criminal Damaging, May 27 - Someone spray painted graffiti on the side of an Avon Lake woman's car. She suspects her ex-boyfriend.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, May 28 - Police stopped a Honda Accord for bearing an Ohio registration that belonged to a Lincoln. The vehicle had been stolen out of Bedford Heights. Three of the five passengers in the car also had warrants out for their arrest.

Disturbance, May 28 - Two men assaulted a customer at the Quarry, 182 Lear Rd., and then fled the bar. Police located two men matching the description of the suspects, but the men denied being at the Quarry. The man that had been assaulted refused medical treatment and refused to press charges.

Theft, May 28 - An employee at Food Mart, 137 Lear Rd., called police and said someone had stolen a money bag from behind the check out counter. The suspect is a frequent customer at the store and staff easily identified him. A theft warrant was issued for the man's arrest.
