Strange Package Sent To Avon Lake Home, May Be Part Of Neighborly Feud
The package recipient didn't want to file charges, he just wanted to let police know the package had been sent to him.

AVON LAKE, OH — Strange packages, underage alcohol sales, possible harassment of a juvenile girl, police dealt with all of those issues and more in recent weeks. The strange package, which included an unsigned letter, may be part of a continuing neighborly feud.

Suspicious Activity, Sept. 13 — Police received reports of a man in his late 50s harassing a juvenile female that was walking to school. The man denied the allegations when speaking with police but was told to have no further contact with the girl.

Assault, Sept. 14 — A juvenile is being accused of assault at Avon Lake High School. The suspect is being charged through Lorain County Juvenile Court.
Liquor Offense, Sept. 14 — The clerk at Giant Eagle, 31990 Walker Rd., was cited for selling alcohol to an underage person. The citation was issued as part of a collaborative investigation between Avon Lake Police, the Ohio Investigative Unit and the Lorain Count Addiction and Drug Addiciton Services Board.

Traffic Complaint, Sept. 14 — Officers checked on the status of a disabled car on Lake Rd., near Moore Rd. The female driver of the vehicle had left to get a tow, but police managed to talk to her. The driver never returned to the car and Avon Lake Police initiated the tow. The plates on the vehicle are seven months expired.
Suspicious Activity, Sept. 15 — An Avon Lake resident came to the police station report a strange package that had been sent to their home. The package, the resident believes, may be connected to harassment from a former neighbor. The package contained a portable step and a letter. The letter made no threats and was not signed.
Found Property, Sept. 16 — A Blue Raleigh Talus 3.0 21-speed bicycle was found near Jaycox Rd. and Woodfield Dr. The bike is currently in custody at Avon Lake Police Department.
Theft, Sept. 17 — Three flags were stolen from Sweetbriar Golf Course on Sept. 15 and another six flags were stolen on Sept. 16. The head groundskeeper for the course reported the thefts.
