Suspected Heroin, Meth Found On Elyria Man
Police said they got reports of a sweaty, unstable man at 2 a.m. Callers thought the man might be on drugs.

WESTLAKE, OH — Suspected heroin, or fentanyl, as well as meth and narcotic pills were found in a running car in the Promenade parking lot this month.
Callers saw a man acting oddly near the Promenade on Detroit Road at 2 a.m. The man was believed to be on drugs. Police said the man was unsteady on his feet, sweating and slurring his words when they spoke with him.
When officers asked the man what his name was, and what his date of birth was, the man hesitated. When he did answer, police thought he was making the answers up.

Officers were able to pry the truth out of the man and determine he was a 33-year-old from Elyria. His vehicle was parked in the nearby Promenande parking lot. The car was running and the doors were open. There were hypodermic needles in plain view and they appeared to be recently used, police said.
Officer searched the vehicle and found suspected heroin, or fentanyl, as well as Methamphetamine and pills.

The man was arrested and charged with felony drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and misidentification. The man also had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.
