Suspected Overdose Death In Avon Lake
Police and firefighters were unable to save a 23-year-old from a believed overdose death.
AVON LAKE, OH — Police officers and other emergency responders were unable to save the life of a 23-year-old last week. The young man was believed to have been killed by an overdose, though it will take some time before a proper autopsy is performed.

Theft, June 8 - No good deed goes unpunished. A Spinnaker Drive resident gave his intoxicated neighbor a ride home from a local bar. When they got back to Spinnaker, the drunk neighbor said he needed to use the bathroom. He used the restroom and then booked it out of the house. When the Good Samaritan went upstairs, he found that his Microsoft Surface Pro tablet was missing. He found the table on the lawn between his house and his neighbor's. The tablet was damaged. The neighbor has since said he would pay for the broken tablet.

Criminal Damaging, June 8 - The spare tire attached to a trailer was slashed. The trailer was parked on Electric Blvd.
Stolen Vehicle, June 12 - A 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle was stolen from a West Shore Rd. resident's house.

Death Investigation, June 12 - Police were called to 176 Curtis Dr. for a possible drug overdose. When officers arrived, firefighters were already administering first aid to a 23-year-old man. The man was later pronounced dead.
OVI, June 13 - A vehicle struck the back of the Avon Lake Plumbing building and then attempted to flee the scene. Callers reported the incident and police arrived before the vehicle could get away. The driver of the car got out of his vehicle, wobbled on his feet, and told officers he didn't know what had happened. When asked to perform field sobriety tests, the driver refused, saying he knew he wouldn't do well. He was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and turned over to a sober party.
