Suspicious Man Sneaks Into Avon Lake Home, Garage

AVON LAKE, OH — A suspicious man was seen loitering around and inside two Avon Lake homes on Feb. 26. In both instances, the man claimed he was looking for landscaping clients.

According to police reports, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the man was spotted hanging around a Regency Court resident's garage. The resident spotted the man standing between their two cars and confronted him.

The man told the resident he wanted to know if she needed landscaping work done. The woman said she didn't and the man left the property. No car was seen in the area, the man simply walked off.

A few hours later, the man got into a house on Monticello Drive. He came into the home through the garage area, according to police reports. When he was confronted by a resident, he started talking about landscaping and then left the home.

The resident told police the man got into a car and drove off.
