Taco Bell Hit And Run In Avon Lake

A repairman's truck sideswiped another car in the parking lot of Taco Bell and then fled. The driver of the truck was allegedly intoxicated.

AVON LAKE, OH - If you're drunk, the Spicy Triple Double Chicken Wrap is not worth the trip to Taco Bell. A plumber found that out the hard way this past week when he sideswiped another vehicle in the fast food chain's parking lot, police say.

Theft, March 9 - An Avon Lake woman's credit card was stolen out of her purse. The card was later used at a gas station on Root Road in Lorain. The woman cancelled the card but wanted police to be aware of the theft. Surveillance video was obtained from the gas station in Lorain.

Theft, March 10 - Two small skate ramps were taken from the city skate park. Police do not have any leads as to who took the ramps.

Telecommunications Harassment, March 15 - An Avon Lake man reported that another resident was harassing him via the phone. Police told both men to stop contacting one another.

Suspicious Activity, March 16 - Two residents of Aqua Marine Boulevard reported their roommate was behaving strangely.

OVI, March 18 - A Wayne's Plumbing truck allegedly sideswiped another vehicle in the parking lot of Taco Bell at 7:12 p.m. The damaged vehicle's driver called police and followed the truck, advising police of the truck's location. Police caught up to the truck near Redwood Boulevard and Fairfield Road. The driver blew a .271 and was cited for OVI, Leaving the Scene, and Possession of Marijuana.

Suspended License, March 19 - Avon Lake Police stopped a vehicle for speeding along Walker Road. The driver had a suspended license.

OVI, March 20 - Police stopped an Avon man for driving with one headlight and swerving between lanes. The man was found to be intoxicated and his car was towed from the scene. The man's license was also suspended.
