Teenager Arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance: Avon Lake

The teen was running around his car on Newport Court. Callers reported the erratic behavior.

AVON LAKE, OH - If you're high and driving through a town, don't hop out of your car and circle around your vehicle like a raving lunatic. People tend to notice. As they did when a car full of juveniles got busted for driving around with marijuana.

Possession of a Controlled Substance, Jan. 6 - Callers reported that a maroon SUV was driving erratically near Newport Court and Leeward Court. It was reported that the occupants of the vehicle were driving extremely slowly, and the occupants would jump out of the car, run around, and then jump back in. Police caught up to the vehicle and found that one of the occupants, a juvenile, was holding marijuana. The driver was also cited for driving with expired license plates.

Traffic Complaint, Jan. 8 - Officers stopped a driver for going 51 mph in a 35 mph zone on Walker Road. The driver did not have a driver's license.

Natural Accident, Jan. 10 - A tree fell on two cars parked on Beck Road.

Criminal Damaging, Jan. 11 - Someone broke the flag pole at Landings Way and stole a pair of flags. Police say there are currently no suspects.

Theft, July 11 - Brunswick Police arrested a man for attempting to cash a check stolen from Total Line Refrigeration, 33530 Pin Oak Pkwy., Westlake.

Theft, Jan. 11 - A Moore Road homeowner reported to police that a roofing contractor cashed a check for work without actually performing the work.

Suspicious Activity, Jan. 11 - Police transported a juvenile making suicidal threats to Fairview Hospital.

Fraud, Jan. 11 - A woman's Church friend contacted her on Facebook about some money she had won, but it was unclaimed. Before sending the person money, the woman contacted her friend by phone and learned that someone was impersonating the friend on Facebook.

OVI, Jan. 12 - Callers reported that there was a car stuck in gravel on Electric Boulevard. A caller also said the driver may be intoxicated. When officers arrived, the driver of the car was trying to fix the front bumper of their car, which was damaged when the car collided with the pile of gravel. Officers determined the driver was intoxicated.
