Teens Caughts Smoking Weed, Drinking At Park In Avon Lake

Police said three teenagers were found at Sunset Park at about 8 p.m.

AVON LAKE, OH — With school back-in-session, and summer in its dog days, police dealt with a bevy of teenage incidents. Local teenagers ran away from home, got caught smoking weed in a park slide, and more, police said.

On August 11, callers reported a group of teenagers hanging out suspiciously at Sunset Park at about 8 p.m. Officers went to the park and found three teenagers smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol in the park slide. Police confiscated the alcohol and drug paraphernalia and then released the teens to their parents.

Last week, on August 18, a Wildberry Circle resident called police and said she had woken up to find her 16-year-old daughter wasn't at home. Officers arrived shortly after the call and the girl turned up. She had snuck out of her house after her mother went to bed. The girl had been gone for about 90 minutes, police said.
