Thieves Target Cars In Avon Lake
Several thefts from locked and unlocked cars in the city occurred last week. Thieves made off with debit cards, money, and bikes.

AVON LAKE, OH — Thieves targeted locked and unlocked cars in Avon Lake last week. Loose change, bicycles, debit cards, and other items were stolen. Read on for more information. Disorderly Conduct, June 23 - Callers reported a man causing a ruckus at Larry's Liquor Store in Artstown Plaza. When police arrived, the man had left the store, but officers found the man at a nearby gas station. The man was intoxicated when police found him, so he was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Theft, June 25 - A juvenile's bicycle was stolen from the St. Joseph church parking lot. After an investigation, police found the theft was not captured on the church's video surveillance system, so no suspect has been identified.

Fraud, June 26 - Fraudulent activity was discovered in a Bayview Drive resident's bank account. They reported the activity to police on June 26.
Burglary, June 26 - Loose change and a bicycle were stolen from a Brittania Parkway's vehicle between June 22 and June 23. The resident reported the theft on June 26.

Traffic Complaint, June 28 - An officer on patrol near Avon Belden Road saw a car driving aggressively down the road, swerving across traffic to make a left hand turn, cutting off another car in the process. The officer pulled the driver and cited her for driving under suspension and other traffic offenses.
Theft, June 28 - A debit card and several other items were stolen from a North Point Drive resident's vehicle between June 27 and June 28. The debit card was later used at a local bank. Footage from the bank's ATM may have captured the suspect.
Theft, June 27 - Several items were stolen from a resident's car overnight. The resident said she believed the car was unlocked and there was no sign of forced entry, police say.
