Three Shoremen Earn Special Mention on AP Division I All-Ohio Team
Brett Bass, Collin Lucas and Dontez Smith earn football honors.
Despite just missing the state playoffs, the football team put up some impressive number and several players were honored by receiving “Special Mention” on the Associated Press Division I All-Ohio Team.
Running back/defensive back Brett Bass, sophomore running back Collin Lucas and senior running back Dontez Smith earned the honors, released Nov. 29.
One of Bass’ more impressive efforts was scoring four touchdowns against North Olmsted in mid-September. Lucas ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns to help Avon Lake to a 42-13 rout over Olmsted Falls to capture a portion of the SWC title. Smith ran 206 yards to help Avon Lake earlier in the season.
