Heavy rainfall is expected through Tuesday night and that could mean flooding.

AVON, OH — Thunderstorms are expected to hammer Northeast Ohio with rain on Tuesday. The heavy precipitation could cause flooding in Cuyahoga, Lorain and other counties.
"Thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and evening. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall and localized flooding is possible. Training of storms is possible with storm motion to the north at 15-20 mph," the National Weather Service said.
The storms are expected to kick up before 9 p.m., but after 1 p.m. or 2 p.m., on Tuesday. Rainfall could amount to a tenth of an inch or more.

While light rain could persist through the end of the week, the hazardous weather is expected to taper off by Wednesday morning. Still, residents will want to take precautions to deal with possible flooding.
Additionally, Northeast Ohioans will want to prepare for possible power outages. Monday night's thunderstorms knocked out power for about 2,500 FirstEnergy customers. On Tuesday morning, there were still 1,500 people without power.
