The ban includes electronic cigarettes, smokeless tobacco and more.

AVON LAKE, OH — Tobacco products have been banned in all Avon Lake city parks and on all city property. The prohibition includes "any lighted or unlighted cigarette, cigar, pipe, bidi, clove cigarette, electronic cigarette, and any other smoking product, and spit tobacco, also known as smokeless, dip, chew and snuff, in any form," according to an ordinance passed by Avon Lake City Council.

"We want to remind you, as you enjoy our parks, in the future, please refrain from using any tobacco products," said Avon Lake Police Chief Duane Streator in a video informing the public of the law change.

City Council approved the new ordinance banning tobacco products on all city property on June 11. The ordinance was first introduced and read on May 14 and read again on May 29.
